Mochi Breakfast. Day 12. Crossing the parallel 38 was an exciting experience and loaded with tension, today we have been in the DMZ, the demilitarized zone that marks the border between North and South Korea.
There are no more trains to Pyongyang, the station has been closed since the relations between the two nations since 2003 are further complicated. They check us passports several times. They write our names on a list. Many tourists are looking at the border and take photos at the bridge of freedom, but we go further. We take a second bus. Destination Panmunjom, within JSA, the joint security area.
A northern military observes us from afar. We take some photos and comment on the absurdity of this situation. Then we enter the conference room divided by half from the military demarcation line. One step beyond the table and we are in North Korea. Very cool!
