There are few days left before my return to Italy and I can not help but wonder what I will miss about Bali and what I can not wait to have back after more than two and a half years of distance.
Bali:
- Massages are definitely the first place (I know there are also in Italy, but who can afford them with such frequency?);
- Sunsets on the beach drinking a cold Bintang
- The clear green of the rice fields
- My favorite watermelon juice
- My villa’s swimming pool
Italia:
- My best friends (I miss you dudes!)
- A walk through the streets of a historic city, on what is called sidewalk
- The season change
- Alpine landscapes and woods that change color;
- The dishwasher, the great invention of the last century;
- Drinking water in the house and electrical current always available (I know, I’m an romantic girl)
- The espresso at the bar (not only for its goodness, but also for the intrinsic value of the word “espresso”)
- Art exhibitions, theater and italian cinema
- All Italian cuisine and its typical products, in particular: buffalo mozzarella, parma ham, artichokes, red tomatoes (the real ones), mandarins, peaches, apricots, cherries, porcini mushrooms, seasoned cheeses, Recco’s focaccia and of course a wonderful glass of italian red wine (better if Amarone 🙂
I’d say that it’s not hard to understand why I’m happy to return J, in the end, there is only a crucial point to solve: TIME.
Well, the opportunity to manage my time is one of the wonderful benefits that this island has offered me, but I live in hope, a little naif, to take it with me in my suitcase, together with the red statue of Buddha I have bought in Ubud. Then please do not try to open my eyes, be polite…
